Internet of Things event 2017

On March 14, 2017, the second edition of the Internet of Things event took place in Rotterdam. VORtech was one of the partners of this event. At our booth, we talked to interested participants about their ideas on Internet of Things and explained them how they can turn their sensor data into actionable insights.

The focus on the physical world makes VORtech special in the world of analytics. That’s why our creed is “Analyzing the world around us”. While many analytics companies concentrate on customer transaction data, we specialize in data from things you can touch, see also our leaflet.

For over 20 years, VORtech has been working on modeling the world around us. Using a combination of mathematics and state-of-the-art software engineering, we have created powerful tools that help people make important decisions. Traditionally, these tools have relied heavily on a mathematical model of the system. However, as data is more readily available nowadays, our solutions now make more use of observational data or are even fully data-driven. We apply advanced statistical methods, machine learning techniques, and data assimilation. Recently VORtech successfully completed analytics projects in finance, traffic management, energy networks, water supply and the construction sector.

During the Internet of Things event, we have talked to people that would like to use analytics techniques for their Internet of Things challenges. We have also seen interesting talks regarding predictive maintenance, smart buildings, and big data in the construction industry. We got inspired, and we hope to have inspired people.
